Expedia .ca -Better off booking directly with Airline.
I used Expedia for numerous flights and hotels over the past two years. I had to cancel a round trip flight and as I was notified when booking with Expedia, it was non-refundable. ALS itinerary charges were $200.00 and had to pay for all checked baggage. I am an Elite customer, but this status gives you no more membership privileges than non Elite customers. Out of curiosity, I went to the United Airlines website and tentatively booked the same rond trip flight.the cost was the same as Expedia- less the $4.00 service charge. Also, I had the option to puchase an "Unrestricted Fare" for $63.00 CDN which allows me to cancel and get a refund, do not pay a $200.00 itinerary fee, and check in 2 pieces of luggage free. Also, for $35.00 you can upgrade you're seat to First Class. From now on, I will book through the airline so. I can take advantage of the additional and nominal upgrades that Expedia does not promote nor advertise on their site.
